Regional WA continues to be affected by a shortage of rental properties. The Shires of Cuballing, Williams and Boddington are undertaking research to determine if there are a sufficient number of vacant houses on rural properties to establish a program to renovate, rent, and then return to the owner.
This program is in a conceptual stage, and feedback from rural property owners, as to what would be required to make this a viable proposition, is being sought. Some of the initial ideas include the removal of barriers such as arranging renovations and property management, in return for a minimum rental period.
