The entrance to the Library and Cafe has been upgraded with the installation of a new sliding door. The new door will enhance access to the building for all visitors, with little effort required when entering the building.

Sealing of the Town Hall car park and Peppercorn Lane is now complete. Kerbing will be installed in the coming days, and new footpaths and asphalt surfaces will follow in the coming weeks.

Paul Turley visited the Boddington Library on Thursday, 3 April 2025 for a live reading of his book 'Banana's Big Day Out'. He provided several activities for the children to enjoy. The Library hopes to have him back again when his next book is published!

Boddington's Cheers to Volunteers Sundowner honours and appreciates the dedicated volunteers from community groups, sporting clubs, emergency services and non-profit organisations in Boddington during National Volunteer Week. This celebratory event will feature a sundowner dinner held at the Boddington Sports and Community Club, a hub for social and community activities, providing an ideal setting for an evening of entertainment and hospitality.

Business After Hours is a free event delivered on a biannual basis. The event facilitates informal networking for local business owners and representatives to strengthen connections. It also enables new business owners and representatives to make introductions and assists them with raising the profile of products and services available in Boddington and promoting local spending.

The Boddington Swimming Pool will close for the season on Monday, 15 April 2025 at 7pm. We extend our appreciation to Contract Aquatic Services for another fantastic season. Boddington Swimming Pool is anticipated to welcome everyone back on Wednesday, 15 October 2025.

Over 40 residents attended the official opening of the Boddington Visitor Centre, following the completion of the enhancement project led by the Boddington Progress Group.

Community input is invited on the Department of Energy, Mines, Industry Regulation, and Safety – Building and Energy division's proposal to extend private swimming pool safety barrier requirements to areas currently excluded in local districts. This initiative follows recommendations from the Ombudsman’s 2017 report, which highlighted that excluded areas have a higher risk of drowning incidents, particularly among young children.

Preparations for the dredging project are well underway, with the Shire working closely with the Dredging Contractor and various consultants to finalise logistics and environmental requirements.

The Shire has recently sought Expressions of Interest from suppliers to manufacture and install six tourist chalets as part of Stage 1 of the Caravan Park Redevelopment. Pricing for the custom designs is currently under review, with standard design options also being explored.

Another splash of colour is coming to the Boddington town centre, and your input is needed! The new mural will contribute to an attractive streetscape on the Boddington Library and Visitor Centre building as part of the Boddington Town Centre revitalisation project. The theme, 'Discover Boddington', will highlight the natural beauty that makes Boddington special and entice visitors to discover more.

The civil contractor is making good progress, having finalised details and scope with Water Corporation regarding services in Peppercorn Lane. Sealing, kerbing, and line marking are scheduled for completion by early April.

Boddington came alive with a vibrant crowd of over 900 residents and visitors gathering for the much anticipated annual South32 Summer by the River celebration on Saturday, 22 March 2025. The celebration was generously funded by South32 Worsley Alumina and Lotterywest, and attracted a diverse crowd eager to enjoy an evening of activities and entertainment.

Following the resignation of Cr Garry Ventris as Shire President, the Council has elected Cr Eugene Smalberger as the new Shire President and Cr Paul Carrotts as the Deputy Shire President.

Shire President Cr Garry Ventris has formally announced his intention to resign from his role as President after serving nearly 8 years on Council and 5 years as Shire President. Cr Ventris will continue to serve the community as an elected Councillor for the remainder of his term.

The Shire of Boddington is seeking submissions from the Community for items to be considered for inclusion in the 2025/26 annual budget. This input will help inform the development of the budget by ensuring a diverse range of ideas are considered, and resources are allocated in a way that benefits a broad cross-section of the community.

Summer by the River is set to illuminate the skies once again with an awesome fireworks display during its event on 22 March, 2025 at Hotham Park. A comprehensive risk mitigation plan has been developed to ensure that the event's location and procedures align with Boddington's needs.

The Shire is currently consulting with some landowners regarding a proposed transition from Unimproved Value (UV) to Gross Rental Value (GRV) for certain rural residential properties. This process is in line with the requirements set by the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries, which advises local governments to periodically review rating classifications to ensure consistency and fairness across property types.

On Saturday, March 22, from 12 PM to 10 PM, Wuraming Avenue will be closed for the Summer by the River 2025 event. Alternative access for pedestrians will be provided through the vacant lot at the end of the Wuraming Avenue cul-de-sac. Residents of Wuraming Avenue and guests at the caravan park will receive written notice in advance.
