Community Development Officer

The Shire of Boddington is seeking a motivated individual to join our Development and Community Services Team.
The Community Development Officer is responsible for community engagement including developing effective relationships and networks with relevant community members, agencies, community and sporting groups, government organisations and internal stakeholders that develop the community capacity and improve wellbeing within the Shire.

Key responsibilities include:
•Plan, develop, implement and evaluate community development projects and programs, encompassing health and wellbeing, sport and recreation, arts and culture, community safety, access and inclusion, early years, youth, seniors, and other portfolios the position services.
•Lead, coordinate and deliver Shire events.
•Source, apply and acquire grant funds.
•Facilitate the administration of project teams, community reference groups, community networks and user groups as directed.
•Provide support to the Coordinator Community and Economic Development as required for economic development projects and programs, as well as community service operations.

The successful candidate should be highly motivated and have a strong community ethos. Experience in a similar role is preferred, with excellent interpersonal skills, event management experience, and advanced written and verbal communication skills.
This position offers:
•30 - 38 hours per week, working an 8 or 9 day fortnight.
•Cash component between $71,689 - $74,791 (based on 38 hours, and dependent on qualifications and experience).
•Up to 17.5% superannuation.
•Access to local government benefits including professional and personal development, salary sacrifice, and an additional 2 days Public Service Leave per year.
