Wheatbelt Suicide Prevention Project

The Shire of Boddington was successful in obtaining funding with Holyoake’s Wheatbelt Suicide Prevention Project to build the capacity of community groups and service providers to enhance health and wellbeing in two at-risk groups.

The project encompassed forming the Boddington Early Years Network, as well as the Boddington Active Ageing Network comprising of community groups and organisations with an active role in delivering programs and activities for these priority cohorts in Boddington.

As a seed project, the Networks, facilitated by the Community Development team, co-designed events for Children’s Week in October 2022 and a Senior’s Week event in November 2022. The Networks continue to function as two working groups undertaking a collaborative approach to ensure coordination of activities and programs to improve local participation of early years and older people.
