South32 Worsley Alumina and the Shire of Boddington are pleased to announce an expansion of their partnership, with an additional investment of $2.5 million over the next four years to support community initiatives that align with the Shire’s Strategic Plan. This continued collaboration underscores both parties' commitment to supporting local development, well-being and driving economic growth within the community.

In 2023, Worsley Alumina reinforced its commitment to the local community by contributing $2 million to assist the Shire in revitalising the town’s main street and upgrading the caravan park. These projects formed a key part of the Shire’s vision to enhance Boddington’s appeal, promote tourism, and support local businesses.

The Shire’s Strategic Plan outlines a roadmap for enhancing Boddington’s liveability, promoting economic growth, and improving community facilities. Through this partnership, South32 Worsley Alumina and the Shire of Boddington will work together to fund one or more projects that benefit the local community.

Shire of Boddington Deputy President, Cr Eugene Smalberger, emphasised the value of working together, stating, “This collaboration with South32 Worsley Alumina will enable the Shire to accelerate the delivery of key projects that reflect the needs and aspirations of our community.”

South32 Worsley Alumina General Manager Mine and Materials Trever Stockil added, “We are proud to be partnering with the Shire of Boddington to invest in the long-term future of the region. Our shared vision of creating sustainable, positive outcomes for the community is at the heart of this partnership.”

The partnership will be rolled out over the next four years, with both parties working closely to ensure the initiatives are implemented effectively and deliver lasting benefits to the community.
