Public Questions in Ordinary Council Meetings

Published on Monday, 26 August 2024 at 10:09:20 AM

Members of the public are welcome to attend all Ordinary Council Meetings, held every 4th Wednesday of the month at 5:30 pm at the Council Chambers, located at 39 Bannister Road, Boddington.

To maintain a professional and consistent environment, the following rules and regulations apply during these meetings:

  • The Shire will accept a maximum of two questions per individual. Each part of a multi-part question will be considered a separate question.
  • Questions submitted by 12 noon on the day prior to the scheduled Council meeting will, where possible, be addressed during the meeting. These questions and their responses will be distributed to Elected Members and made available to the public in written form at the meeting.

How Question Time Works:

  • Submit your questions via email before the Council Meeting or use the provided form in the Council Chambers.
  • When the Presiding Member asks if there are any questions from the public, acknowledge that you have a question ready in writing.
  • The Presiding Member will invite the public to ask their questions.
  • Clearly state your full name and address.
  • Direct your question to the Council through the Presiding Member.
  • The Council may take a question on notice for a later response.
  • When a question is taken on notice, the response will be sent in writing to the individual who asked the question and will be included in the agenda of the next Council meeting.
