Exciting news for local tourism! The Council has officially endorsed the detailed design for the Boddington Caravan Park Redevelopment, allowing the project to enter the construction phase. The first stage of the redevelopment will include the construction of six modern cabins, providing more diverse accommodation options to meet the growing demand from visitors and families.

The Shire of Boddington is seeking market stalls for the Community Christmas Celebration on Friday 6 December 2024 from 5:00pm to 8:00pm. Submissions for Christmas decorations, clothing, gifts and related items are encouraged.

Main Roads WA has approved the signs and lines design proposed by the Shire of Boddington for Forrest Street. The Shire is in the procurement phase of the project, with completion expected by the end of November.

The Shire’s Community Grant Program is now open for Round 2, offering financial assistance to incorporated organisations to support projects and programs that benefit our local community and economy. This initiative aims to foster an engaged, vibrant, inclusive, and healthy community. In Round 1, the Boddington Blue Light Unit received funding to bring Bubble Soccer to the Community Markets in October. Eligible applicants can apply for up to 75% of total project costs, with a maximum grant of $2,000. Applications close at 4 pm on Thursday, 28 November. The Shire of Boddington is holding their annual Senior’s Week event on Monday 13 November 2024 from 10:30am – 1:30pm. This year the event is a “Have A Go Day”, with some local groups running activities, workshops and demonstrations appropriate to seniors to encourage socialisation and participation.

The Shire of Boddington is taking a significant step toward addressing local housing needs with the formation of a Housing Strategy Reference Group. The Group is set to include Councillors to represent community priorities, along with industry and business representatives.

On Saturday, 19 October, the Shire coordinated a successful pre-bushfire season burn at Hakea Road Reserve. Carried out under ideal weather conditions, this planned burn was a crucial step in reducing fuel loads and protecting our community as we head into fire season.

Congratulations to the two winners of the Golden Feather Hunt! There are still plenty of feathers waiting to be found, with more chances to win books in the Junior, Kindy, and Young Adult categories. The hunt continues until October 27, 2025, so don’t miss out!

The Shire recently participated in the Boddington Community Markets, offering a great opportunity to engage with community members. It was a pleasure connecting with many familiar faces in the vibrant atmosphere. Many visitors and residents stopped by our stall to ask questions, share feedback, and learn more about the Shire’s upcoming initiatives.

Once the network is switched off, old devices that rely on 3G won’t work anymore or may provide limited coverage, so they’ll need to be upgraded. This includes: 3G-only mobile phones 4G-enabled mobiles that rely on 3G for emergency calls 4G-enabled mobiles that aren’t configured to work on Telstra’s 4G network Other devices that rely on 3G, like medical devices and some of the older EFTPOS terminals

Over the past few weeks, this project has progressed with the planting of 10 mature trees, contributing to the beautification and environmental sustainability of the area. These trees will provide shade and greenery for the community to enjoy in the years to come. Installation of a reticulation system has also been completed to ensure that the new plantings, as well as future landscaping efforts, are properly watered and maintained.

New gym accessories have been added to BoddFit Community Gym, thanks to member suggestions submitted during the Community Budget process earlier this year. The new equipment includes: • 3kg, 6kg, and 9kg Medicine Balls • Glute bench (with an additional 20kg Olympic Bar) • Second Trap Bar • Preacher Bar In the coming weeks, a Medicine Ball Tree, a Dumbbell Tree, and another set of 1-10kg Dumbbells will also be arriving. Members are encouraged to submit suggestions throughout the year for consideration in the Annual Budget. Suggestions can be made by emailing shire@boddington.wa.gov.au or calling 9883 4999.

The much-anticipated Ranford Pool Project is about to commence. As part of the Shire’s commitment to improving local amenities, these upgrades will enhance Ranford Pool into a more accessible, safe and enjoyable facility for all members of our community.

The Boddington Swimming Pool will reopen for the 2024-25 season from 1pm on Wednesday, 16 October 2024. Thankyou to Matt and Dylan from Contract Aquatic Services for undertaking pre-season preparation.

The Shire of Boddington is once again pleased to welcome Peel District Cycling Club to host the 2024 Peel Classic in Boddington which is expected to bring 500 visitors to town on Sunday, 6 October.
