The Shire’s Community Grant Program is now open for Round 2, offering financial assistance to incorporated organisations to support projects and programs that benefit our local community and economy. This initiative aims to foster an engaged, vibrant, inclusive, and healthy community. In Round 1, the Boddington Blue Light Unit received funding to bring Bubble Soccer to the Community Markets in October. Eligible applicants can apply for up to 75% of total project costs, with a maximum grant of $2,000. Applications close at 4 pm on Thursday, 28 November. Once the network is switched off, old devices that rely on 3G won’t work anymore or may provide limited coverage, so they’ll need to be upgraded. This includes: 3G-only mobile phones 4G-enabled mobiles that rely on 3G for emergency calls 4G-enabled mobiles that aren’t configured to work on Telstra’s 4G network Other devices that rely on 3G, like medical devices and some of the older EFTPOS terminals

Over the past few weeks, this project has progressed with the planting of 10 mature trees, contributing to the beautification and environmental sustainability of the area. These trees will provide shade and greenery for the community to enjoy in the years to come. Installation of a reticulation system has also been completed to ensure that the new plantings, as well as future landscaping efforts, are properly watered and maintained.

New gym accessories have been added to BoddFit Community Gym, thanks to member suggestions submitted during the Community Budget process earlier this year. The new equipment includes: • 3kg, 6kg, and 9kg Medicine Balls • Glute bench (with an additional 20kg Olympic Bar) • Second Trap Bar • Preacher Bar In the coming weeks, a Medicine Ball Tree, a Dumbbell Tree, and another set of 1-10kg Dumbbells will also be arriving. Members are encouraged to submit suggestions throughout the year for consideration in the Annual Budget. Suggestions can be made by emailing shire@boddington.wa.gov.au or calling 9883 4999.
